What are good strat replacement pickups?

I bought a vintage 57 reissue about a year ago and to be honest I was slightly disappointed. I love the strats sound and have played mexican strats, american strats and some others. I was originally going to get an american stratocaster but I found a 57 reissue brand new not used for 1200 which is alot cheaper then what they sell for at retail price. So I grabbed it and didn't really check it out first like a retard. What I dislike about it is it is to soft... like it doesn't have the raw, kind of raunchy tone something like the american strat had. The clean is nice but the distortion is extremely weak, I know strats are screamers but it is much weaker then every other strat I have played. I want a sound close to an american strat but they don't sell those pickups separately or not that I have seen. So what would you recommend that would get me a similar sound.
