How do I prevent mono before and after french kissing my boyfriend?

my boyfriend and I have been together for 3 years. we want to finally french kiss. (I know what you're thinking. "it's been 3 years and you're just now french kissing?") well, I wanted to make sure he was the definite one for me. It's looking pretty promising so, we decided that next time i see him we will try french kissing. I've looked it up online and I figured out you can get mono from french kissing. I'm really worried because if I get mono, I will get in huge trouble with my parents. so I want to know if you can prevent it before and after french kissing so I don't get it. (and I want to tell my boyfriend how to prevent it so he doesn't get it and get in trouble either) if it's possible to prevent it, please tell me how in the nicest way possible.
