Is it illegal to take someone elses facebook photos without their concent then repost them with humorous edits?

Well it's not illegal, since there is a high chance that the photos are just regular pics, not Copyrighted ones, therefor you can use it however you want, BUT, ask your friends, first, if you can use their pics to do some editing, if they say, "what kind?", you say it's a surprise!
